UK cookery school Leiths School of Food and Wine has just launched its first 100% vegan course, and it has sold out in record time.
Leiths has already launched a new vegan course for April 2018, to accommodate the high demand.
“We’ve noticed a definite surge in the demand for nutritional knowledge combined with practical cookery skills over the past few years, which led to the launch of our Nutrition in Practice course,’
‘Since then, veganism has become increasingly popular in the UK, with restaurants such as Mildred’s, Temple of Seitan and Fed By Water drawing in huge crowds.” – Camilla Schneideman
On the menu there will be:
- Vegetable stock from scratch
- Egg-free mayonnaise
- Broccoli pesto
- Dairy-free cheese sauce
- Beet bourguignon
- Quick chickpea curry
- Tempeh skewers with spiced coriander chutney
- Chocolate mousse with tahini biscuits
They are also set to launch an evening class, designed to cover nutrition, dinner party recipes and vegan cakes and bakes.
Leiths is one of the top 10 cookery schools in the UK, and was founded by Bake Off judge Prue Leith.
With such a high end and respected UK cookery school demonstrating that veganism is on the up, it’s only a matter of time before other institutions take notice.
