For years, Donald Trump has been an outspoken climate change denier. Now Sir Paul McCartney has slammed him over his beliefs.
In a recent interview with the BBC, McCartney said: “You’ve got someone like Trump who says that [climate change] is just a hoax.”
“A lot of people like myself think that’s just madness so it’s maybe a good time now to try and focus people’s attention and say ‘look, forget about him we can do something’.”
McCartney is currently campaigning for more people to go meat-free for one day every week in a bid to reduce damage to the environment.
As is now well documented, animal agriculture is the leading cause of climate change, deforestation, pollution, famine and drought. It’s the single most damaging industry to the planet.
President Donald Trump has always believed that climate change is a myth and since being in power, has scaled back efforts to protect the environment, brandishing them as “a waste of money”.
He also announced in June that the United States would be withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement.
As sea levels continue to rise and the Earth becomes more polluted, it’s more important than ever, that we take immediate and drastic steps to protect the quickly diminishing environment.
