Vegan vending machines producing sandwiches, wraps and desserts will soon be coming to Bristol, after success on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
‘Vegan Vend’ have now exceeded their £3,200 goal, with 56 backers supporting their goal.
Confirmed items so far include:
- Green machine sandwich
- Vegan sausage sandwich
- Coronation chickpea sandwich
- Sweet potato pakora wrap
- The big Bombay bhaji wrap
- Millionaire shortbread
- Bakewell Slice
They wrote on their Kickstarter: “For the first time, a vending machine will fully cater for, but not be limited to those persons following the vegan diet.”
“This service will also be suitable for those looking for a healthier lunch or snack option without compromising on flavour.”
“Vegan Vend will be starting it’s [sic] journey in Bristol, UK. We chose here to launch the business because we felt like it was the perfect city to bring it to life in.”
“We hope that after we’ve set up machines around Bristol, we can branch out to other cities and set up there so that everybody has access to delicious on-the-go vegan food.”
Vegan Vend announced on their Facebook that their first vending machine has been built and that it was decorated by local artist Hope Talbot.
The exact location and reveal dates of the first vegan vending machines are yet to be announced, however, it is expected to be revealed within the next couple of months.
