Vegan charity Veganuary has announced that it will be expanding its operations to North America, to try and encourage more people to give veganism a go.
The UK based charity launched in 2014 and will be seeking a Head of Campaigns for the area.
Veganuary gets people to commit to a month-long vegan pledge throughout the month of January, to demonstrate how easy and successful it can be.
Last year, Veganuary had 168,500 people sign up for the vegan challenge, with 62% of participants saying they intended to remain vegan after the month was up.
The US and Canada is Veganuary’s second-biggest market, and it hopes that by expanding to North America they can increase the number of people taking part in the challenge.
They are looking for a ‘dynamic, creative and well-connected senior manager to head up our work in the US & Canada’.
The charity said: “At Veganuary we love to inspire and support people to go vegan, cost-effectively and on a massive scale,”
“We’ve attracted masses of mainstream media coverage and developed great brand awareness in the UK, as well as publishing a best-selling book.”
“We’re now looking to increase our presence in the US and Canada, our second biggest market.”
