Vegan superstar and directing legend James Cameron is releasing a new environmental film. Titled, ‘What would the ocean say?’, it will be voiced by Zoe Saldana and will outline the issues faced by our world’s oceans.
It takes a look at global warming, plastic pollution, overfishing, ocean acidification and more. It’s fantastic to see that a film will finally be looking at overfishing, and not turning a blind eye to the environmental destruction that it causes. There is more to how our oceans are being ruined than just pollution, and there’s no one better than James Cameron to highlight this.
James Cameron has been vegan since 2012, and he is a strong advocate for a vegan diet. He has challenged those at the National Geographic Society to give it a chance, stating;
“I want to challenge all of you as people of deep conscience, people who are environment stewards of the earth and oceans … By changing what you eat, you will change the entire contract between the human species and the natural world.”
His wife also founded an entirely vegan school.
Not to mention, he won the “Explorer of the Year” title after his solo dive to the deepest point in the Pacific Ocean, so he’s pretty bad-ass.
‘What would the ocean say?’ is simply James Cameron’s latest contribution to a more environmentally healthy world.
The film also introduces a “new generation of ocean activists”, such as teachers, researchers, and filmmakers. It puts forward the urgency of our oceans call for help, posing questions such as; “If not me, then who? If not now, then when? It starts here. It starts now.”
‘What would the ocean say?’ has been distributed online by National Geographic, and will be viewed across the world. It is amazing to see someone with such influence trying so hard to make a difference.
