Starbucks isn’t renowned as the most vegan-friendly chain out there, but they’re most definitely working on it. The most recently added Starbucks vegan option is the new Vegan Lentils & Vegetables Protein Bowl with Brown Rice, which sounds like it will be a huge hit vegans and meat eaters alike.
The protein bowl comes with butternut squash, roasted tomatoes, sunflower seeds, and a lemon-tahini dressing.
This hearty, filling meal demonstrates the potential that vegan food has. Not only can this be eaten and enjoyed by the vegan portion of the public, it allows those who have allergies or intolerances to enjoy it too.
Not only that, but there’s no reason why meat eaters looking for a healthy option can’t dig in too! If they’re curious as to where vegans get their protein, then this is the answer.
The bowl comes with an absolutely whopping 23 grams of protein per bowl, which is pretty much half of your recommended amount per day!
It is also high in necessary vitamins and minerals, low in fat, and the sunflower seeds add extra magnesium, zinc and iron.
This Starbucks vegan option has been proving extremely popular, even selling out in certain locations! It was originally added as part of the temporary summer menu, however, in certain stores it is becoming a year-round feature.
The only downside? It’s currently only available in select locations in the US. However, with the success of ventures such as Veggie Pret here in the UK, it most likely won’t be long before this Starbucks vegan option is available across the pond.
