Cruelty-free fashion designer and lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney, has designed the first ever fully vegan pair of Stan Smiths.
Stan Smiths are one of Adidas most recognisable designs, and are the 6th most Instagrammed trainer of all time.
Traditionally made from leather, they were first launched in 1963 for tennis player Stan Smith.
Stella McCartney does not include any leather, fur, feathers or skins in her products, and is leading the way in high-end ethical fashion.
The vegan Stan Smiths look almost identical to the traditional leather option, aside from a few alterations.
The heel, instead of being grass green, is colour blocked with navy and burgundy stripes.
Instead of three Adidas stripes down the side, the trainer instead has tiny stars punched into the fake leather.
McCartney’s sketch is also on the left tongue, with Smiths staying on the right.
The Stella McCartney Stan Smiths will be available in both men’s and women’s sizes, retailing at £235.
They will be available from the 10th September, and can already be pre-ordered from stellamccartney.com and in stores.
