Famous fashion magazine Vogue Australia has named vegan fashion and vegan beauty as one of its top ten trends to invest in, in 2018.
The magazine recommended products such as nail polish from Kester Black, a cruelty-free Australian nail polish brand, as well as lip tint from Herbivore Botanicals.
Vogue wrote: “From nail-polish to faux leather, the vegan movement is taking over more than menu choices this year.”
Vogue Australia also included trends such as ruffles and lace on its list.
For a world-famous magazine to recognise vegan fashion and beauty as a top trend within the fashion world is a huge step forward.
It comes as high high-end brands such as Versace and Michael Kors ditching fur, which received widespread support from the general public.
Donatella Versace stated: “Fur? I am out of that,”
“I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion, it doesn’t feel right.”
Furthermore, brands such as Kat Von D and Tarte have defined themselves as being cruelty free, with UK brand Superdrug even opening their very own pop up vegan shop.
Top London shopping districts such as Camden Market and Old Spitalfields Market have also banned the sale of fur, further demonstrating fashions changing attitudes towards vegan fashion.
